Bear Lake.... again!

Wow …what a wonderful week at Bear Lake.  We had the usual suspects there… we were missing many family members, but it was still warm and wonderful.  In attendance:   Gary, Megan, Hayden, Nelson… Adam, Chris, Jenna, Becca, Casey, Rooney, Rachel, Fernando … Angela, Preston (Megan Sanchez- friend) … Liz and Al … Me, Wayne, Laila ( Alex Evans –friend) Addison, Bre, Alf, Poppy, Landon.    (Everyone was not there the entire time, but atleast for a day here and there.  )

The weather was great all week and we basked in the sun, ate too many double Raspberry shakes, hung out on the beach and in the boat.  Had dinner by the condo and under the trees- (BBQ chicken,  Shredded roast beef, Café rio type salads, Korean  poolgoogi, and Marinated chicken with grilled pineapple and fried rice.

We played games, golfed and biked and reconnected as a family.  I love this about Bear Lake.   I loved talking about memories and Mom, Dad and Marcie.   We also got some fun news in the form of a movie from Rachel and Nano who will be parents in February!

Laila, Preston and friend Megan Sanchez

We had different condos than in usual years… it was good having a lower condo for Gary (and his hurt body), but the upper condos were a LOT HOTTER than in the condos  404- 405.   We will be at the end of July next year… so maybe even hotter then but it’s always an adventure.  The difference between an ordeal and an adventure is always ATTITUDE.
We went to the Juanito Bandito show..and it was as  silly  as always.  We get a big kick out of this show.

Addison and Bre's favorites include sitting in the mega tube out on the lake.  Watching Alf on the boat.  Jumping out and swimming with Alf in the middle of the lake. How high the like was.   What they groaned about?.... the heat and melting all night long with the noisy fans trying to cool us off.

It was fun having Alfie on the boat and on the beach.  He is such a cute little guy and didn’t have any playmates at the beach, but was happy anyway.  I guess AL was his play buddy with balls and water guns at the beach.   Alf was brave feeding the carp, and  on the boat and jumping into the water and even getting on the tube.  Huge progress from last year.  Poppy is the easy baby and just smiled and went to anybody who wanted her.   She is also still immobile so it was easy to keep her out of the sand.

Our family tree pic was really different this year…. Only me, Wayne and Laila were in it…. Laila said it’s good she’s our favorite so the pic made sense.  ( She’s a doll.  ) Laila loved riding around in the boat, tubing a bit, and being a good sport.  She drove back down the mountain one day to attend a Pentatonix concert then drove back up the next morning.  She did good driving in the canyon.  I told her to go sooooo slow… in the canyons which she did but she got home in under an hour …which means she didn’t go slow on the regular freeways…  oh well.

Bear Lake is truly our version of camping…no air conditioning, sleeping on top of people,  lots of out door time… uncomfortable mattresses… camping!
