Lights On party

Lights on party was filled with all of the usual things.....   Fondue, "Fond of you",

New Christmas pajamas for all of the grand kids,

...a dark house that then with Ooh's and Aah's the tree lights are turned on one at a time, and Christmas carols are sung.  Gathering in a circle in the Living room, under candle light and passing a candle around and saying what LIGHT we see in the person next to us.   Singing "This little Light of mine" and Wayne sharing a devotional on the power of light and what that means to shine your light.

We added some Israel insights this year, with a lamp that's filled with olive oil, and talking about a mite and what is our offering? (and it should be filled with gratitude).....and gifted everyone a widow's mite and an olive wood ornament.

We added opening of cousin Christmas gifts to this night.  This works out great, then these gifts are treasured and played with and not lost in the Christmas day gift over load.

We also added my new Emmanuel Wreath... that I'm just loving.  I'm doing advent this year, and reading a scripture and little devotional each day, while I light a candle.    We lit this wreath every time we said a nice thing about the person next to us.  The grands were mesmerized by the bright flame.

We finished the night by making Christmas ornaments...one to leave at Meema's house and one to take home.

Truman is always a show

This is my favorite tradition and feels good to begin the holiday season this way.
