I inherited a Temple painting. My Grandpa Butters commissioned it in 1959 from a local artist. He wanted the saga of the pioneers and the temple all in one painting. So the Salt Lake Temple is complete and sitting out in the middle of nowhere. You also see pioneers in covered wagons and some pulling handcarts. Some in cabins, and some getting married under the olive tree next to the temple. There is the Seagull gate monument and the Brigham Young monument in the painting. Seagulls flying around the temple spires and a sailboat on the Great Salt Lake. It's pretty funny when you really look at it. I love it. I love the colors and that it was my grandpa's then my dear Uncle Lynn and now it's mine.
