Happy Birthday at Addison– I can’t believe he is 40!
Bre planned a big surprise party at Center Point Theatre for Addison. (We celebrated family-wise the beginning of the month with May birthdays) The invite said it’s a DIY Met GALA- with a red carpet and a runway.
I made a flower headdress to go with my red velvet suit, and poured paint on a thrifted jacket for Wayne to wear. All very artsy-farty.
The Buzzelli’s showed up with feathers– Landon had a featherbustle type thing that rtrailed behind him, over a suit. Andrew had a feather sleeve jacket and Sophia feathers under a dress. Alex a feather arm band.
Bre took a parachute and made a very colorful dress– Alfie wore a green Joker jacket George his shiny suit coat, Poppy dressed as a princess– and Addison showed up in a pink double breasted suit.
There were so many fun outfits as so many got into the spirit of the event
Addison was surprised… he knew something was up because Bre made him dress up– they had a fun dinner at their Inkley friend’s home ( Danny’s birthday is June 1). And then they came to CPT– and were surprised with 30+ friends and family members all shouting Happy Birthday.
We served rootbeer floats– Addison’s favorite and had a cold cereal bar– cuz he loves Cold cereal.
I helped Bre and the kids do a little skit to show a timeline for Addison’s life– It started out with him being born so I sang my Addison song that I made up while rocking him to sleep during his first weeks of life.
it was fun having the Alfie, Poppy and George involved- acting things out. – We sang “Once I went in Swimimin” – while Alfie showed the pages from Addison’s book he illustrated– and at the end the kids and Bre sang “Que Sera”– with changed words– and it was darling. We cried.
We all sat down with champagne flutes filled with Martinelli’s and everyone gave a toast to the birthday boy. So many fun stories shared and his awesome traits talked about.
Then Dancing and cake made by his sis in law Kirsten. Addison felt very loved.
