Landon spent his 34th birthday in a hospital room with Alex in Goiana, Brazil. Not how he pictured it would be. As Landon does, he quickly reframed his situation, found a McDonalds to get a specialty shake with flavors found only in Brazil and had a little celebration.
I love this boy of mine. He's been through the wringer this past week with Alex's kidney's failing, and all the parents having to fly back to USA, while Landon who speaks very little Portuguese has to advocate for Alex. He only had a few melt downs-- as to be expected - but mostly he's been a beacon of HOPE. I love the man he has become. Struggles make us stronger and Alex and Landon will make it through this trial.
