Thanksgiving with Markus and Laila

Happy Thanksgiving was spent in Oceanside this year with Markus and Laila. We were here all week and did a lot of fun things. We enjoyed gorgeous weather-- and it was good to stay with Markus and Laila in their apartment, instead of a hotel room.

The beach is always good for my soul.  Wayne brought our scooters down and that's always fun.

I took Nightmare Before Christmas characters down for Laila that were crocheted by my friend Sidnee-- I tried to crochet them, but these were too advanced.  Laila loved them.

We went to the WICKED movie.  I brought a black hat, cape and gloves and a pink crown and pink gloves for Laila and I to wear at the movie, because, Why not?  And it's fun and I knew Laila would support me in this.  Markus and Wayne did too.

ON Thanksgiving morning we got up and turned on the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade, as per usual, and then the Dog Show as we prepared our food.    It’s a gorgeous sunny day here, so we are having our dinner picnic-style at the park across the street.   We rode scooters…and while we did that Jet figured out how to get the pasty kringle off the tall counter and ate it….all of it…. He is now sick. We have compassion for him though, because who hasn’t eaten an entire Kringle by themselves?

We made mashed potatoes, gravy,  sweet potatoes, cabbage and carrots in butter sauce, garlic green beans, roasted chicken instead of turkey since Laila and Markus like chicken and not turkey, hot rolls, cranberry sauce and our two pies were pumpkin and smores.

I checked in with all of my boys… Add and Bre were with the Briggs fam, Landon and Alex were in St. George with Alex’s parents, Tru was in LONDON at a Charlie XCX concert, and Monson and Lexi celebrated with Friends in their ward- who they love to hang out with and all are well and happy.

We did a painting game…where we draw names out of a hat, and paint each other’s portrait…. Laila painted me, I did Wayne, Markus did Laila and Wayne painted Markus….they all turned out fair, as usual, not really looking like any of us, but a fun time nonetheless. The  Packers played football- Markus’ favorite team, and won, and Laila and I worked on her English assignments for college. She is all caught up now- Can I get a Hallelujah!
