Lights On party 2021

Lights on Party was awesome.! We stayed on the Level 1 Santa level this year, for many reasons.  It was more important for me to have all my people here and comfortable and to talk about light than it was to preach about my favorite JESUS.  It's all good.

Landon, George Meema

First step gather for a FONDUE party.  This is Sophia's favorite meal of the year and I talked about changing it up this year and Sophia gave me a big thumbs down.  So the chocolate and cheese fondue tradition stands.

Alfie loved potato chips in the chocolate

Lady and Poppy

Bre and Laila

Addison, Alex, Wayne and Landon

Elsie, Monson and Lexi

Landon and Alex brought their life-size Santa over to sing and entertain the kids... Elsie would not go near him, and had to be carried past him to go from room to room.

PAJAMA time-- This year's grandkid pj's said... "Coming Soon... to a chimney near you."  And George wore his baby's first Christmas jammies.

Then we turn off all of the lights in the house and start with the small tree in the Kitchen family room, turn on the lights and ooh over it and we sang, "Jingle Bells."  We move to the lights in the entry way, turn those on and aah over it and sang, "We wish you a Merry Christmas."  Then we head to the big tree in the living room and ohhh over it and sing, Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer.  (Usually, these songs are all Christmas hymns... oh well... we will do that again one day. )
My favorite part and Tayla's as well is to sit everyone in a circle with just the tree light and passing a candle around the circle and saying what we love about the person sitting next to us.  It's a sweet time to share and affirm each other.  We sing "This little light of Mine" and "Running Over" and Wayne talks about sharing our light and doing our best.

Next up- Talent show featuring "Doot de doos". I thought everyone knew what these were since I grew up calling wrapping paper rolls with wax paper on the end to turn them into Kazoos this name since I was little.  Well it's just a Cole thing.  We made our doot de doos then each family had to perform a choreographed song.  It was awesome.

The Grand kids opened presents... they love this part.  Laila got a walking doll as big as her!

More entertainment with a Bell choir and then The Who Challenge.  We all taped our noses up and put a marshmallow in our lip to stick it out and took turns singing, "Where are you Christmas."  We laughed a TON.  We are really good at doing silly things in the name of entertaining the kids.

I love this group of mine.  Eight grandkids!
