Lights On- Pajama Party

Our Lights on - Pajama Party was a SUCCESS!    We gathered for Fondue which is Sophia and Alfie's favorite dinner EVER.  So much Cheese, Chocolate and meatballs to be had.  Sophia put the chocolate in a cup and drank it.    Then we turned off all the lights in our home and we start at the small Christmas tree , do the trees by the front door , the nativity on the piano and finally the big Christmas tree and each time we turn on the lights we sing a Christmas Carol.  It really brings a sweet spirit .  Then Wayne gave a devotional about the light of Christ and how we can be more like Christ and remember Christ through service and reaching out to others, just like he did.  We gave each house hold a little manger with straw that you place in it every time you do service for someone in your family...then the baby Jesus on top.    Our final part of the Lights On tradition is passing a candle around the circle and having everyone say something nice about the person next to them...it's a beautiful thing.     Pajamas are next  with matchy matchy for everyone this year!!
We sent pajamas to New York...for Van and Truman to join in too.

For our activity we had everyone make a family video together.  This is Sophia and Andrew's favorite thing...they love making videos and they really love when the adults play along.   We used the song:  "It feels like Christmas" from the Muppet Christmas Carol.
It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas

A cup of kindness that we share with another
A sweet reunion with a friend or a brother
In all the places you find love
It feels like Christmas

It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the spirit
The message, if we hear it
Is make it last all year

It's in the giving of a gift to another
A pair of mittens that were made by your mother
It's all the ways that we show love
That feel like Christmas

A part of childhood we'll always remember
It is the summer of the soul in December
Yes, when you do your best for love
It feels like Christmas

It is the season of the heart
A special time of caring
The ways of love made clear
It is the season of the spirit
The message, if we hear it
Is make it last all year

It's in the singing of a street corner choir
It's going home and getting warm by the fire
It's true, wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas
It's true, wherever you find love
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
It feels like Christmas
